The Impact of New Developments in Employment Law on Senior Care Organizations
September 25 @ 8:30 am - 11:00 amFree
Joseph Maddaloni, Jr., Esq., Partner at Schenck, Price, Smith & King, LLP, (a LeadingAge New Jersey Business member) & Co-Chair of its Labor & Employment practice group will present this interactive session focusing on New Jersey’s senior care organizations which may be hit hard by the rapidly changing landscape of employment laws. This session will focus on Governor Murphy’s recently signed pieces of legislation that significantly impact all New Jersey employers: the Diane B. Allen Equal Pay Act (“Equal Pay Act”) and the Earned Sick Leave Act (“Sick Leave Act”). For New Jersey employees, there may be added legal benefits and protections. But for New Jersey senior care organizations, the laws also create new issues — and the potential for significantly increased liability.
