This webinar reviews the NEW CMS guidance on substandard quality of care and the impacted F-Tags by regulatory grouping. Includes an examination of how identification and citation of the SQC F-Tags may be impacted by the new survey process.



PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is rolling out the most comprehensive update to the long term care regulations in more than 30 years. This webinar series will focus on the magnitude of these changes in Key areas that are the focus of the new survey process. Faculty who have been on the front-line of training CMS surveyors and have deep experience in survey and certification will translate the complex changes into measurable outcomes and operational reality. The areas of focus are those that are currently guiding surveyor attention and behavior and may also influence survey outcomes. Strategies, tools, and resources will be shared which can be immediately applied in long term organizations.

OBJECTIVES:
• To understand the key areas of focus from the Requirements of Participation (ROPs) for the new survey process
• To learn and adapt strategies that fit into your operations
• To link regulatory sections and requirements to each other and to the new survey process
• To lay the groundwork for compliance for phase 3 of the ROPS

LEARNER OUTCOME(S)
The participants in this webinar series will identify at least five strategies and action steps to use in linking the ROPs with successful performance under the new long term care survey process. Successful completion of the course is defined as attendance on webinar for 95% of the didactic learning session and a complete course evaluation.

TARGET AUDIENCE:
Long term care facility administrators, medical directors, department managers, supervisors, unit managers, social workers, compliance officers, business officer managers, rehabilitation therapists, quality improvement managers, and others involved in the implementation of the ROPs and in the survey process.
